NGC/PCGS MS/SP-70 1 oz American Silver Eagle Burnished Coin - Random Year

American Silver Eagle coins are imprinted with captivating designs that reflect patriotism and national pride and adorned with famous American symbols.

They were first released in the numismatic world in 1986 through the American Eagle Program, and the US Mint boosted their production by adding Proof and Burnished versions to the collection.

These specific coins are burnished versions. The blanks used in their making underwent a special treatment process called burnishing, which cleans them from undesired oxides, resulting in a matte finish with more vivid design details.

Today's we offers 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagles, either graded as MS-70 by NGC or SP-70 by PCGS. They may be of varied mintages and seals, randomly taken from our stocks, according to your availability at the time of shipping.

The word “LIBERTY,” the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the year of issuance complete the design.

Reverse Type 1

The US Chief Engraver John Mercanti created the first reverse design imprinted of Silver Eagles.

The Heraldic Eagle is beneath 13 stars in the image, representing the Thirteen Original Colonies. It has the National Shield on its chest, arrows and olive branches in its talons, and a banner with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak.

The engravings "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR" inform the coin's face value, weight, metal content, and purity.

Reverse Type 2

The new reverse design substituted the original one in 2021, celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the American Eagle Program.

It was designed by Emily Damstra and depicts a Bald Eagle perched on a branch. Inscriptions detailing the coin’s weight, metal content, and purity surround the image, reading “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ,” and “FINE SILVER.”
